What makes the 2020 Ford Escape stand out?

Smooth handling, combined with powerful performance defines the new Ford Escape. The 2020 Escape comes in four trim levels and two hybrid trims. The Escape is a budget-friendly vehicle that delivers on its value. The other trim levels include the SE, SEL, and Titanium trim levels. The hybrid trim levels are the SE Sport Hybrid and the SE Titanium Hybrid.

The Ford Escape uses a standard 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that gives you 180 horsepower combined with standard eight-speed automatic transmission. On the higher trim levels, you can also opt for a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The hybrid powertrains are exclusive to hybrid models. The standard drivetrain is the Front Wheel Drive, but for roughly an additional $2000, you can also switch to All Wheel Drive.

The new Escape has good fuel efficiency, but the numbers change slightly depending on which drivetrain you choose – FWD vs. AWD. With Front Wheel Drive, the S trim level with the three-cylinder engine gives you an MPG of 27 within city limits and 33 on the highway. The All-Wheel-Drive gives you 26 within the city and 31 on the highway. Aside from fuel efficiency, the Front Wheel Drive versus All-Wheel Drive ultimately works out in FWD's favor, owing to the limited benefits you get for the extra $2000. A properly equipped Escape lets you tow up to 3500 lbs. But if you really want to utilize the benefits of the Escape's powerful towing capacity, the FWD will help you more than the AWD.

The 2020 Ford Escape interior gives you and all your passengers ample space to sit and stretch comfortably. You get 33.5 cu ft. of cargo space behind the rear seats, and with the second row laid down, this space extends to 65.4 cu ft. The SYNC infotainment system is standard in the Ford Escape. The base model comes with a 4.2-inch display, 6-speaker audio, and a USB port. From the SE level onwards, you can opt for the available SYNC 3 infotainment system. Also available is a moonroof, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a bigger 8-inch touchscreen, a 10-speaker audio system from Bang & Olufsen, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and more.
